A bite
out of daylight.

Follow the Moon across the Sun, then stay as the sky turns to stars. The 2026 eclipse was partial here in Fuerteventura.

Watch daylight change

Follow the August 2026 partial eclipse over Fuerteventura, then stay with the sky as afternoon turns towards sunset.

The Moon takes its first bite

A small dark edge appears where the Sun was whole. The Moon crosses our line of sight, and the familiar disc begins to change. Follow the changing outline as the eclipse unfolds.

A crescent of sunlight remains

For a little while, daylight has a different shape. Near Corralejo, the Moon covered about 72% of the Sun’s disc. A crescent of sunlight remained: a partial eclipse here, with no local totality.

From sunset into stars

The Moon moves on, and the horizon takes its turn. The Sun lowers towards the west; the dunes grow quiet in the changing light. Stay a little longer. The stars are next.

Your next evening beneath the sky

The last daylight fades and the stars return. This is a replay of August 2026; ask us about future observing dates, or choose a planet night already on the calendar.

Real solar viewing requires purpose-made solar filters, including on telescopes. Never look directly at the Sun without suitable protection.
